*********************************************************
The Office of the Government Chief Information Officer (OGCIO) launched the Smart City Roving Exhibition today (August 26). Members of the public are welcome to visit the exhibition which will be held in different districts in the coming four weeks.

The Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry, Professor Sun Dong, today visited the exhibition at the D·Park, Tsuen Wan. The roving exhibition features various smart city initiatives under the Smart City Blueprint for Hong Kong 2.0 (Blueprint 2.0), including "iAM Smart", the City Dashboard, the Wi‑Fi Connected City programme, the "HA Go" mobile app and telehealth services, and the Multi-functional Smart Lampposts pilot scheme.

An experience zone is set up at the exhibition where members of the public can enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view of Hong Kong scenes, past and present, through augmented reality technology using the "City in Time" mobile app. Through an on-site demonstration, visitors can also gain a better understanding of how the real-time interactive charts and maps of the City Dashboard bring convenience to mobility and daily life. An "iAM Smart" registration counter is also set up for visitors to register or upgrade to "iAM Smart+" on site, to enjoy fast and convenient access to over 210 online services provided by the Government as well as public and private organisations.

"The Government launched the first Smart City Blueprint for Hong Kong in 2017, and its updated version Blueprint 2.0 in 2020. In the coming year, we will organise roving exhibitions quarterly to enable citizens to experience how various smart city initiatives can bring convenience to their daily life through the adoption of technology. Members of the public will also be able to understand and appreciate the latest development of various measures rolled out by the Government in addressing city management challenges and improving people's livelihood," Professor Sun said.
