LegCo Members visit Jockey Club Lok Fu Hostel in relation to complaint (with photos)

The following is issued on behalf of the Legislative Council Secretariat:

Legislative Council Members conducted a site visit at the Jockey Club Lok Fu Hostel (Hostel) operated by the Neighbourhood Advice-Action Council today (August 23) to follow up on a complaint in relation to the support services for homeless women.

Accompanied by the representatives of the Social Welfare Department (SWD), Members visited the Jockey Club Lok Fu Hostel to understand its design and environmental hygiene situation. Members were also briefed by the representatives of the SWD and the Hostel on the measures for protection of the privacy of homeless women and improving the environmental hygiene of the Hostel.

Members who participated in the visit were Mr Tang Ka-piu (Convenor), Ms Elizabeth Quat, Ms Yung Hoi-yan, Dr Tik Chi-yuen and Ms Lam So-wai.
