FEHD and HAD invite market tenants and public to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the motherland together (with photos)
******************************************************************************************
To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) together, the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department (FEHD), the Home Affairs Department (HAD) and related trade representatives visited various public markets and hawker bazaars today (June 29) to distribute souvenirs to the trades and members of the public.

To ring in the HKSAR 25th anniversary and in support of the anti-epidemic work, the FEHD, in collaboration with the HAD, the Leisure and Cultural Services Department and the Housing Department, has launched a two-week territory-wide clean-up operation in all districts from June 17 to 30, with public markets and hawker bazaars included in its coverage. In addition, the FEHD has put up 25th anniversary celebrative banners and posters at its markets, and put up relevant posters at its various offices (including 19 District Environmental Hygiene Offices, four Regional Joint Offices for investigating water seepage cases and various licensing offices) during the same period.

The spokesman said that the FEHD and the HAD today visited the Wan Chai Market, Tai Shing Street Market in Wong Tai Sin, Yeung Uk Road Market in Tsuen Wan and Fa Yuen Street Hawker Area in Mong Kok, with Federation of Hong Kong Kowloon New Territories Hawker Associations. Souvenirs and anti-epidemic supplies, including surgical masks and rapid antigen test kits, were distributed to the trades and members of the public to appeal to them to observe epidemic control measures and receive COVID-19 vaccination in order to create favourable conditions together for the joyful celebration of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the HKSAR.

The FEHD and HAD expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Federation of Hong Kong Kowloon New Territories Hawker Associations for their full support to the event. The FEHD also encouraged the general public to visit public markets and hawker bazaars, and join hands with the trades to bring the social and economic activities back to normal as soon as possible.
