***************************************************************
To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), the Information Services Department launched an online exhibition today (June 17) featuring the development of Hong Kong in the past 25 years and opportunities ahead through interactive presentation and contemporary design.
The exhibition comprises of five zones, namely "Basic Law", "Hong Kong National Security Law and Improving Electoral System", "New Paradigm for a New Future", "Major Historical Events over the Past 25 Years" and "Interactive Photography". Visitors will be guided by an animated robot to tour around each virtual space to experience and appreciate the rich content of the exhibition.
Visitors can take part in a question-and-answer session to test their understanding of the Basic Law. There are also interactive elements and videos to enable visitors to gain a deeper understanding of the Hong Kong National Security Law and the improved electoral system.
The "New Paradigm for a New Future" zone covers four main subjects: the support of the National 14th Five-Year Plan for Hong Kong in enhancing its strengths in eight key areas in which Hong Kong has a competitive edge; the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA); the Northern Metropolis Development Strategy; and the Lantau Tomorrow Vision. A promotional video on 25th anniversary celebrations will be played at the beginning of this zone.
By clicking on the stereograms specially designed for the eight key areas to be enhanced, visitors can be acquainted with the strengths, strategies and measures of Hong Kong in each area for its active integration into the national development. The development strategies and opportunities of Hong Kong in the GBA, the Northern Metropolis and the Lantau Tomorrow Vision are also vividly introduced through the use of maps in an interactive presentation.
In addition, the "Major Historical Events over the Past 25 Years" exhibition zone features a special design in the shape of "25", allowing visitors to review the major events in Hong Kong in the past 25 years as if they were travelling through a time tunnel. Ten covers of the Hong Kong Yearbooks were also selected for interactive photography, in which visitors can take pictures of themselves with their favourite Yearbook covers as backgrounds using their smart devices.
The public is welcome to visit the website of the virtual exhibition anytime and anywhere at www.hksar25exhibition.hk. The exhibition is also available at the dedicated website for celebration of the 25th anniversary of the HKSAR's establishment at www.hksar25.gov.hk.
