HAD distributes complimentary COVID-19 rapid test kits to households, cleansing workers and property management staff in Yau Tsim Mong, Wan Chai, Eastern District, Sham Shui Po and Tai Po (with photos)

     ​In light of the positive test results for the COVID-19 virus from some sewage samples collected in Yau Tsim Mong, Wan Chai, Eastern District, Sham Shui Po and Tai Po, the Home Affairs Department (HAD) said today (March 6) that the Yau Tsim Mong District Office (YTMDO), the Wan Chai District Office (WCDO), the Eastern District Office (EDO), the Sham Shui Po District Office (SSPDO) and the Tai Po District Office (TPDO) have distributed a total of about 134 820 COVID-19 rapid test kits (rapid test kits) to households, cleansing workers and property management staff living and working in the districts.
 
     The YTMDO has started to distribute rapid test kits to households, cleansing workers and property management staff living and working in Parc Palais, King's Park Villa, The Victoria Towers, New Lucky House, Alhambra Building, National Court, United Mansion, Lucky House, Honour House, Carmen's Garden, Tower 1-3 Grand Austin, Metro Harbour View, Island Harbourview, Cosmopolitan Estates, The Long Beach and Hing Wong Mansion for voluntary testing through the owners' corporations, property management companies and district organisations.
 
     The EDO distributed rapid test kits to households, cleansing workers and property management staff living and working in King Yu Court, Serene Court, Piedmont Garden, Fu Fai Court, Grand Villa, Victoria Tower, King Fai Court, Hing Hon Building and Aroma Court for voluntary testing through the property management companies.
 
     The WCDO today also started to distribute rapid test kits to households, cleansing workers and property management staff living and working in residential premises near Victoria Park and Tin Hau areas and within the affected area for voluntary testing through the owners' corporations and property management companies. Arrangements have also been made for distribution of rapid test kits to households living in "three-nil" buildings located within area of which the sewage samples were tested positive.
 
     The SSPDO also started to distribute rapid test kits to households, cleansing workers and property management staff living and working in Nam Shan Estate, Tai Hang Tung Estate and Tai Hang Sai Estate through the Housing Department, and started to distribute rapid test kits to households, cleansing workers and property management staff living and working in Parc Oasis, Village Gardens, Mount Beacon, Ample Building, Rose Court, Fa Po Villa, Elite Villa and Begonia Court for voluntary testing through the property management companies.
 
     The TPDO started to distribute rapid test kits to households, cleansing workers and property management staff living and working in Parc Versailles, Tai Po Garden, Po Nga Court, Po Heung Estate, Fu Tip Estate, Tai Po Building, Tse Chong Building, Mountain View Court, Central Plaza, Wing Cheung Building, Wing Fu Building, Mei Tak Building, Bong Hing Building, Tai Wo Building, Sui Cheung Building and Kam Fu Building for voluntary testing through the property management companies. Moreover, the TPDO distributed rapid test kits to villagers of Kam Shan Village, Kam Shek New Village and Shek Ku Lung Village for voluntary testing through the Village Representatives.
 
     The HAD made the above arrangements in the hope of identifying infected persons early.
 
     If people living or working in the above areas are tested positive with the rapid test kits, they may call 2280 4772, the Government's 24-hour hotline for "persons tested positive with rapid antigen tests in areas with positive sewage testing results" to arrange door-to-door delivery of RAT kits and/or a nasal swab self-sampling kit free of charge. If people wish to undergo PCR testing, they may collect nasal swab specimen and arrange door-to-door collection of the specimen for PCR testing.

     The Government appeals for the co-operation of members of the public to safeguard the health of themselves and their families by undergoing testing on a voluntary basis and fighting the virus together. The Government urges all individuals who are in doubt about their own health condition, or individuals with infection risks (such as individuals who visited places with epidemic outbreaks or had contact with cases that tested positive), to undergo testing promptly for early identification of infected persons to reduce the transmission risks of COVID-19.
