Application period for Subsidy Scheme for Beauty Parlours, Massage Establishments and Party Rooms 2022 to end on February 20
***************************************************************
The application period for the Subsidy Scheme for Beauty Parlours, Massage Establishments and Party Rooms 2022 (the Scheme) launched under the fifth-round Anti-epidemic Fund (the Fund) of the Government will close on February 20 (Sunday). The Scheme's online application system (bmpsubsidy.gov.hk) will cease receiving applications after 11.59pm on February 20.
Beauty parlours, massage establishments and party rooms wishing to apply for the subsidy should submit their application through the online application system before the deadline. Late applications will not be considered.
The Government announced on February 14 the seeking of an injection of $27 billion into the sixth-round Fund, which was approved by the Legislative Council Finance Committee on February 15. Under the sixth-round Fund, beauty parlours, massage establishments and party rooms (including local pleasure vessels let for hire or reward (pleasure vessels)) will be rendered further financial relief.
In order to streamline the application procedure and facilitate the speedier disbursement of the subsidy, eligible operators of beauty parlours, massage establishments and party rooms who have submitted an application under the fifth-round Fund will not be required to submit a fresh application under the sixth round. The Government will grant the applicable level of subsidy under both the fifth and sixth rounds of the Fund to successful applicants, which will be disbursed in one lump sum as follows:
Subsidy under the fifth-round Fund | Subsidy under the sixth-round Fund | Total subsidy amount
Beauty parlours/massage establishments
1 to 2 workers | $15,000 | $30,000 | $45,000 |
3 to 4 workers | $30,000 | $60,000 | $90,000 |
5 or more workers | $50,000 | $100,000 | $150,000 |
Party rooms | $20,000 | $40,000 | $60,000 |
The Marine Department will issue notification letters to eligible owners of pleasure vessels on the sixth-round Fund.
