Public hospitals daily update on COVID-19 cases and two preliminarily confirmed patients pass away

As at 9am today (February 11), 227 patients who had tested positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus were discharged from hospital in the last 24 hours. Including the other 15 patients who were discharged earlier, so far a total of 14 037 patients have been discharged.
A total of 1 893 patients who had tested positive are currently hospitalised in the North Lantau Hospital Hong Kong Infection Control Centre, the Hospital Authority (HA) Infectious Disease Centre, the Community Treatment Facility at AsiaWorld-Expo and 15 public hospitals, including two critical patients and 11 serious patients. The remainder are in stable condition.
An 86-year-old male patient with chronic diseases was admitted to the Accident and Emergency Department of Caritas Medical Centre yesterday (February 10) due to fever. He tested preliminarily positive during an admission screening and was transferred to Yan Chai Hospital for isolation treatment. His condition became serious and continued to deteriorate. The patient eventually succumbed at 4.07am today. In addition, an 88-year-old female patient with chronic diseases was admitted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital yesterday due to a positive result from a rapid test conducted in an elderly home. She tested preliminarily positive at a subsequent hospital admission screening, and was under isolation treatment in stable condition. Her condition became serious today and continued to deteriorate. The patient eventually succumbed at 2.17pm today. Including these two patients, 208 COVID-19 confirmed patients and two preliminarily confirmed patients have passed away in public hospitals so far.
The HA will maintain close contact with the Centre for Health Protection to monitor the latest developments and to inform the public and healthcare workers on the latest information in a timely manner.
