LCSD to present Scottish Ballet's dance film "The Secret Theatre" as part of "Cheers!" Series
******************************************************************************************
The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) will present "The Secret Theatre", the first feature film of the internationally acclaimed dance company the Scottish Ballet, as part of the "Cheers!" Series to celebrate the Christmas season with audiences.

"The Secret Theatre" features a young boy stumbling into a theatre in a deserted city. There is no one inside the theatre - only rows of velvet chairs, draped curtains and chandeliers waiting for audiences to return. When the boy lifts a curtain, music starts to play and the theatre springs to life with a carnival of characters. Starring characters like the Snow Queen and the Sugar Plum Fairy from the dance company's most popular ballets, this extraordinary show is also filled with beautiful ballerinas, acrobats, clowns, princes and swirling snow.

Founded in 1969, the Scottish Ballet has brought audiences inspiring performances with a creative vision crafted by Scotland over the decades. Based in Glasgow, the company performs throughout the UK and different places in the world to promote Scotland's pioneering spirit far and wide.

"Cheers!" Series: "The Secret Theatre" film screening by the Scottish Ballet will be held at 4pm on December 25 (Saturday) and 8pm on December 26 (Sunday) at the Auditorium of the Kwai Tsing Theatre. Tickets priced at $60 are now available at URBTIX (www.urbtix.hk). For telephone credit card bookings, please call 2111 5999. For programme enquiries and concessionary schemes, please call 2268 7323 or visit www.lcsd.gov.hk/CE/CulturalService/Programme/en/dance/programs_1239.html.

The "Cheers!" Series also includes the acrobatic film "Cirkopolis" by Cirque Éloize, to be screened on December 25 and 26, and live-streaming performance of "Techno Circus" by SIRO-A to be staged on January 15 and 16, 2022. For details please visit www.lcsd.gov.hk/CE/CulturalService/Programme/en/f_entertainment/groups_1233.html.

All persons are required to use the "LeaveHomeSafe" mobile application to scan the venue QR code before they are allowed to enter LCSD offices and venues, except for exempted persons who are aged below 12 or aged 65 or above and those with disabilities that render use of the app difficult. Exemptions will also be granted to individual persons depending on the actual circumstances. All exempted persons are required to complete a record form to register their personal particulars and the date and time of their visit. As it will take time to verify personal particulars of exempted persons under the new arrangement, their waiting time for using public services or entering the relevant venues may be lengthened. The LCSD suggests that members of the public should arrive early and appeals for their understanding. The department also encourages the exempted persons to use the app as far as possible to save time.
