Fatal traffic accident in Pat Heung

At around 6.44am, a private car driven by a 21-year-old man was travelling along Kam Tin Road eastbound. When approaching Wing Lung Wai, it reportedly lost control, and collided with a taxi on the opposite lane.
Sustaining multiple injuries, the 57-year-old male taxi driver was rushed to Pok Oi Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 7.51am.
The 21-year-old private car driver, together with his 26-year-old female passenger felt unwell. They were sent to Pok Oi Hospital in conscious state and were transferred to Tuen Mun Hospital later.
The private car driver was arrested for drink driving, awaiting further enquiries.
Investigation will be conducted by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North.
