Appointments to Lump Sum Grant Steering Committee

     The Government today (September 30) announced the appointments of Miss Yanmi Leung Ho-yan, Mr Sy Ching-tam and Mr Tse Wah-wan to the Lump Sum Grant Steering Committee (LSGSC) with effect from October 1, 2021, to April 21, 2023. The Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Dr Law Chi-kwong, welcomed the appointments.

     The Task Force chaired by the Director of Social Welfare completed the review on the Lump Sum Grant Subvention System (LSGSS) and released its Review Report in July 2021. The LSGSC will follow up on the implementation of the recommendations in the Review Report. The appointments of the three new members from the youth service, elderly service, and family and child welfare service areas will enhance the representation of the Committee and the participation of service users, as well as facilitate incorporation of views of service users on the implementation of recommendations.

     The LSGSC monitors the implementation of the LSGSS and identifies areas for improvement. It also facilitates sharing of information and experience among the Social Welfare Department, non-governmental organisations, their staff and service users.
