Government suspends quarantine exemption for persons entering Hong Kong from Macao
**********************************************************************************
The Government announced today (September 25) that in light of the latest pandemic situation in Macao, all arrivals in Hong Kong from Macao will not be exempted from compulsory quarantine under the Return2hk Scheme or Come2hk Scheme from September 25 at 10pm.

According to the arrangement concerned, persons who have stayed in Macao on the day of arrival in Hong Kong or during the 14 days before that day will not be exempted from compulsory quarantine upon arrival. Instead, they will be subject to 14-day compulsory quarantine at home if they have not been fully vaccinated; and to 7-day compulsory quarantine at home for those who have been fully vaccinated. All arrivals from Macao have to undergo tests at prescribed times under the established requirement. For details of the quarantine and testing requirements for arrivals from Macao, please refer to the Government's COVID-19 Thematic Website: www.coronavirus.gov.hk/eng/inbound-travel.html#quarantinemeasures1.

"The arrangement above will take effect on September 25 at 10pm. Persons who have applied for quotas to enter Hong Kong under the Return2hk Scheme or the Come2hk Scheme beforehand will not be exempted from compulsory quarantine. The Government will send SMS notifications to the affected persons who have already applied for quotas under the above two schemes to inform them of the latest arrangement," said the Government spokesman.

The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government will continue to maintain close communication and liaison with the Macao authorities on the pandemic prevention and control measures of the two places.

Details of the above two schemes are available at the "COVID-19 Thematic Website":
