Police Recruitment Experience and Assessment Day (with photos)

The event consisted of four parts covering different stages: (1) Selection – workshops for Probationary Inspector/ Recruit Police Constable selection; (2) Training – showcase of training process; (3) Passing Out – demonstration of various police units; and (4) Fitness - physical test workshops. Participants are given the opportunity to experience the selection process through the workshops and obtain useful information and tips about the entire recruitment process. Several Probationary Inspectors/ Recruit Police Constables also shared their training lives with participants. A range of police units, including the unit usually assigned to new recruits, the Patrol Sub-unit, and others such as the Police Tactical Unit, the Emergency Unit, the Crime Investigation Unit, the Force Escort Group, the Railway Response Team and the Police Dog Unit, exhibited their equipment and introduced their work and duties to visitors.
Participants attending the physical test workshops experienced the four fitness test items, including 800m run, 4x10m shuttle-run, vertical jump and handgrip strength test. There were also recruitment stations to facilitate participants to apply for Probationary Inspector, Recruit Police Constable or Police Constable (Auxiliary) and undergo initial screening such as written examination or group interview on the spot.
A total of 1,066 participants joined the Police Recruitment Experience and Assessment Day, among which 411 on-spot applications were received, comprising 132 for Probationary Inspector, 260 for Recruit Police Constable, and 19 for Police Constable (Auxiliary) posts. Applicants included students of local and overseas tertiary institutes, working people and ethnic minorities.
The Force accepts job applications year-round.
