Immigration Department fully supports "The Chief Executive's 2020 Policy Address"

The Chief Executive, Mrs Carrie Lam, delivered "The Chief Executive's 2020 Policy Address" this morning (November 25). The Immigration Department (ImmD) fully supports the policies and measures proposed in the Policy Address and continues to support the work of the Chief Executive and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government in strict accordance with the law.
The Director of Immigration, Mr Au Ka-wang, said that policies and measures proposed in the Policy Address could help to preserve Hong Kong's long-term prosperity and stability as well as bring Hong Kong back on the right track.
Mr Au added that "with the strong support of our country, the HKSAR Government can focus on the work of the economy and people's livelihood. The Policy Address delivered by the Chief Executive has devised suitable and effective measures for Hong Kong by unifying forces from different sectors, leading Hong Kong to strive ahead."
Mr Au stressed that being one of the disciplinary forces of the HKSAR Government, the ImmD will continue to provide measures to facilitate immigration clearance to members of the public and visitors, and actively attract talent from outside of Hong Kong to contribute to the sustainable development of Hong Kong. At the same time the ImmD will join with other disciplined services to keep up their commitment, taking enforcement actions in a fair, just, impartial manner in accordance with the law to secure social order and with a view to maintaining Hong Kong as one of the safest and most stable societies in the world.
