Census and Statistics Department appeals to respondents to respond to statistical surveys through online and telephone means
******************************************************************************************
To tie in with the Government's announcement of the extension of the special work arrangement until February 9 and the provision of basic and limited public services, the Census and Statistics Department (C&SD) will conduct essential data collection work for statistical surveys on a limited scale during the aforementioned period so that key social and economic statistics can be released as scheduled.

In order to reduce human-to-human contacts, a C&SD spokesman today (February 1) appealed to survey respondents to complete the surveys using the Online Questionnaire System (OQS), the electronic questionnaire template or by telephone interview by calling C&SD. Details on how to use the OQS, the electronic questionnaire template and the enquiry telephone numbers of the surveys are provided in the invitation letters that had been sent to the sampled respondents by C&SD.  Meanwhile, for those respondents whose telephone contacts are available to C&SD, enumerators of C&SD will contact them for telephone interviews. For enquiries regarding the surveys or the identity of the enumerators, please call the enquiry hotline 2582 4798 or write to the enquiry email at household_survey@censtatd.gov.hk.

For enquiries about the Hong Kong Harmonized System code for import/ export declaration purposes, members of the public can use the search function on the C&SD website (www.censtatd.gov.hk/trader/hscode/index.jsp). For further assistance, please contact C&SD through the Commodity Code Enquiry Hotline (3178 8933) during opening hours, by fax (2824 2782) or email (trade-declaration@censtatd.gov.hk).
