A century of saving lives

     The ambulance service has been part of the Fire Services Department since 1919 and its ambulance technology continues to keep pace with the evolution of technology in hospitals.

     In October, the department installed automatic chest compression machines in all ambulances to aid paramedics in the race against time to save lives.

     News.gov.hk spoke to the Fire and Ambulance Services Academy's Deputy Commandant (Ambulance Services Training) about the lifesaving technologies, as well as two ambulance personnel with decades of experience who share their perspectives on how the professional service standard continues to improve.
