Hong Kong Customs seizes suspected smuggled central processing units (with photo)

Customs officers intercepted an outgoing lorry at Lok Ma Chau Control Point for inspection yesterday evening and seized 2 982 CPUs concealed inside the false compartment of the rear-axle differential unit at the bottom of the lorry.
The 59-year-old male driver was arrested. Investigation is ongoing.
Smuggling is a serious offence. Under the Import and Export Ordinance, any person found guilty of importing or exporting unmanifested cargo is liable to a maximum fine of $2 million and imprisonment for seven years.
