Proprietor fined for violation of safety legislation

     Hong Kong Airlines Limited was fined $70,000 at West Kowloon Magistrates' Courts today (February 27) for violation of the Factories and Industrial Undertakings Ordinance. The prosecution was launched by the Labour Department.

     The case involved a fatal accident that occurred at the parking bay at Hong Kong International Airport on June 28, 2017. An engineer fell about 2.3 metres from a mobile stair platform to the ground while he was repairing an engine of an aircraft. He sustained a head injury and passed away the following day.
