CS visits Shenzhen (with photos/video)

     The Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Matthew Cheung Kin-chung, visited Shenzhen today (December 7) to call on the Mayor of the Shenzhen Municipal Government, Mr Chen Rugui. He also visited the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Youth Innovation and Entrepreneur Hub and attended an event organised by the Qianhai Management Authority.
      
     During the courtesy call on the Mayor of the Shenzhen Municipal Government, Mr Chen Rugui, Mr Cheung said that the Belt and Road Initiative and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Bay Area development would present tremendous opportunities for Hong Kong and Shenzhen, and hoped that the two places would build on the existing foundation to further deepen co-operation in different areas.  He also said that Hong Kong would work with Shenzhen to take forward various key cooperation projects, including developing jointly the Lok Ma Chau Loop into the “Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park”, with a view to establishing an international innovation and technology hub in the Bay Area.
      
     Mr Cheung also visited the Qianhai Exhibition Hall and the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Youth Innovation and Entrepreneur Hub where he was given a briefing on Qianhai’s latest development and how the Hub provided a quality platform for start-ups initiated by young people from Hong Kong.
      
     Mr Cheung later attended an event organised by the Qianhai Management Authority which included an overview of the achievements of the development of Qianhai in the past five years given by the Party Secretary of the Shenzhen Municipal Committee, Mr Wang Weizhong.  He also witnessed the opening of two joint venture securities companies set up by banks from Hong Kong.
      
     Mr Cheung returned to Hong Kong in the evening.
