Hong Kong Customs seizes suspected worked ivory (with photo)

During a parcel examination, Customs officers found the suspected worked ivory in an express air parcel declared as containing "wood doll" and originating from Portugal.
Upon follow-up investigation by Customs officers, a 70-year-old man was arrested today (November 10). Investigation is ongoing.
Under the Protection of Endangered Species of Animals and Plants Ordinance, any person found guilty of importing or exporting an endangered species without a licence is liable to a maximum fine of $5 million and imprisonment for two years.
