Wine and dine festival, environmental expo and more among highlights of 20th anniversary celebration (with photos)

A wine and dine festival, an environmental expo, two exhibitions and a drum performance will be held in the coming days as part of the celebrations for the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR).
Organised by the Hong Kong Tourism Board, the Hong Kong Wine & Dine Festival will be held at the Central Harbourfront Event Space from October 26 to 29 (Thursday to Sunday). The festival is the launch event for the Hong Kong Great November Feast. This year's event offers an enriching gastronomic and lifestyle experience for visitors and locals with around 400 food and wine booths featuring many new and trendy elements.
Two of the five wine zones at the venue will be new to the festival, namely the Robert Parker Wine Advocate Pavilion, which will feature premium wines selected by a noted authority on wine, and the Bubbly Gala, which will offer trendy sparkling wines, fizzy cocktails, champagne and a wide variety of other bubbly drinks. The Country Pavilion will showcase wines from various countries.
The festival will also serve up culinary treats by 10 trendy restaurants in the FeedMe Lane dining zone as well as popular dishes from renowned hotels in the Hotel Delicious zone. For the Tasting Room, five top international and local chefs have been invited to present an unforgettable dining experience for participants. For those following a fashionable lifestyle, the festival is offering a new shopping experience this year with the introduction of the Concept Store, which will feature creative tableware and other products.
The opening hours of the event are from 7.30pm to 11.30pm on October 26, from noon to 11.30pm on October 27 and 28, and from noon to 10pm on October 29. The admission fee is $30, with half-price entry for children aged three to 12, seniors aged 65 or above, full-time students and people with disabilities.

To provide a platform for environmentally conscious businesses in Asia to expand market reach and showcase their technologies, solutions and products, the 12th Eco Expo Asia will be held from October 26 to 29 (Thursday to Sunday) at AsiaWorld-Expo. The expo is organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council and Messe Frankfurt (HK) and co-organised by the Environment Bureau, and will feature 340 exhibitors from 19 countries and regions.
Under the theme "Innovative Solutions for Greener Cities", this year's expo will feature 10 product zones displaying a full spectrum of green products and technologies. Prominent zones will include Green Buildings and Energy Efficiency, Green Transportation, Waste Management and Recycling, Water Treatment and Quality Management as well as the new Start-up Zone.
Eco Expo Asia will be open to the public on October 29 (Sunday) from 10am to 5pm to promote green living. Visitors can shop at the Green Mart for innovative environmentally friendly products and health products, or join sustainability workshops to make dehumidifying bags and banner bags using recycled banners. Another attraction will be the Public Day Forum, in which a representative from the Hong Kong Observatory will speak on climate myths and Dr Rebecca Lee, Hong Kong's first female explorer to have reached the "three poles" - the North Pole, the South Pole and Mount Everest - will discuss the experiences and lessons learned from her expeditions.

Celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the Establishment of the HKSAR Sha Tin Drum Festival: Percussion Showcase, organised by the Sha Tin Arts & Culture Promotion Committee and co-presented by the Sha Tin District Office, will be held at the Sha Tin Park Main Plaza on October 29 (Sunday) from 2pm to 5pm.
With the theme of "Percussion x Drums", the show will see local percussion bands from regional organisations and schools perform for the public and conduct a workshop for those wanting to learn more about percussion.

More than 100 ceramic exhibits with the theme of Hong Kong's past, present and future will be on display at the Exhibition Gallery of Sha Tin Town Hall from October 24 to 29 (Tuesday to Sunday).

"Imagery - Ethnic Minorities Community Arts Exhibition" will be held from October 25 to 31 (Wednesday to Tuesday) from 9am to 10pm at the Exhibition Corner of the Yuen Long Theatre.
The exhibition, organised by Yuen Long Town Hall, will showcase paintings, photos, origami, clay works and other artworks made by people from ethnic minorities and other local volunteers. The exhibition aims to resonate with visitors and bring about better understanding of ethnic minorities.
