Abby Chan's new crossover production "Cattle Runway" to include dance, fashion and theatre
***************************************************************
Local choreographer and dancer Abby Chan will stage her latest production "Cattle Runway" in October.
For this production Abby Chan's contribution goes beyond the role of dancer. She will also collaborate with Kay Wong on costume design and with Mann Chan as dramatist in what promises to be an "extraordinary" fashion show. Also including a troupe of handsome boys and girls, this crossover show contains elements of dance, fashion and theatre.
In addition to Chan performers will include Jessica Cheung, greenmay, Cola Ho, Frankie Ho, Jonathan Hung, Andy Lee and Franky Yau with live music by a talented quartet comprising Chan Man-uen, Chau Chiu-yeung, Samuel Kwok and Wilson Ng.
Chan is a graduate of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts majoring in modern dance, and has also danced with the City Contemporary Dance Company. She received the Hong Kong Dance Award in 2003 for her choreography "Pipe Dream", while also winning accolades in 2004 for her performance in "Rite of Spring", in 2006 for the Mcmuimui Dansemble production "Love in a Doggy Bag" and later for the dance exchange project DanceWide HK/NY. She performed in "Wild Boars" at the 40th Hong Kong Arts Festival and in Unlock Dancing Plaza's first cross-media trilogy "Walls 44", as well as at the Hong Kong Dance Festival outdoor multi-media dance event "Journey to the West" and in "A Concise History of Future" at the New Vision Arts Festival 2016. She was also movement director of Dionysus Contemporary Theatre's "Equus", performer and movement director of "Black Monday" at the New Vision Arts Festival 2014 and in the "Duras Project: Moderato Cantabile/C'est Tout".
