Hong Kong to hold Fourth Seminar of Senior Judges of Cross-Strait and Hong Kong and Macao

The Hong Kong Judiciary will hold the "Fourth Seminar of Senior Judges of Cross-Strait and Hong Kong and Macao" on September 14 and 15. The main theme of the seminar is "Challenges and Opportunities for the Courts in the 21st Century".
The President of the China Association of Judges and President of the Supreme People's Court, Chief Justice Zhou Qiang; the Chairman of the Chinese Society of Law of Taiwan, Mr Tsay Ching-you; and the President of the Court of Final Appeal of Macau, Mr Sam Hou-fai, will lead delegations in attending the seminar. The Chief Justice of the Court of Final Appeal of Hong Kong, Mr Geoffrey Ma Tao-li, and the heads of the delegations will deliver speeches at the opening ceremony to be held on September 14.
During the seminar, the delegates will deliver thematic reports and discuss four topics, namely "Organisation and Human Resources of the Courts", "Alternative Dispute Resolution and Enhancements to Judicial Proceedings", "Modernisation of Information Technology and its Application" and "Direction and Way Forward for Future Judicial Cooperation and Exchanges among Mainland, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau".
The closing ceremony will be held on September 15.
The seminar serves as a regular exchange forum among the judicial sectors of Mainland, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau. It has been held every two years since 2011. The last three seminars were held in Nanjing, Jiangsu; Hsinchu, Taiwan; and Macau.
