Fatal traffic accident in Yau Ma Tei

At about 8.50pm yesterday, a private car driven by a 48-year-old man was travelling along Ferry Street northbound. When turning left to Man Wai Street, it reportedly knocked down the three-year-old girl who was crossing the road.
The girl was trapped under the private car and was rescued by firemen. Sustaining serious head injuries, she was rushed to Kwong Wah Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 10.17pm.
The private car driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death. He is being detained for enquiries.
Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West is underway.
