**************************************************************
The Secretary for Education, Mr Kevin Yeung, visited the Hok Yau Club's Student Guidance Centre this afternoon (July 7).

Mr Yeung was briefed by the Director of the Student Guidance Centre, Hok Yau Club, Mr Ng Po-shing, on the Centre's services, which include a dedicated counseling hotline 2503 3399 to provide study information and emotional support for current-year candidates of the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Examination.

He also chatted and exchanged views with the social workers and counselors who will man the hotline and provide cyber services. The hotline, which was activated today, will operate until July 16.

The results of HKDSE Examination will be released next Wednesday (July 12). Mr Yeung thanked Hok Yau Club and other voluntary agencies as well as all principals, teachers and student guidance personnel of secondary schools for their untiring support for students.

Mr Yeung said that the Government has strived to provide additional education resources so as to offer students more subsidised and diversified opportunities for further studies.

Quoting the sayings, "Every trade has its master" and "All roads lead to Rome", Mr Yeung encouraged all candidates to set their minds at ease and make informed choices on development pathways with multiple perspectives in pursuit of their own dreams.

He added that besides studies and employment, there are many important things in life that everyone should treasure, such as family and friends. He advised candidates to share their feelings with family members, teachers and friends, and seek professional support if needed.
