CAD reminds public of establishment of temporary restricted flying zone
***********************************************************************
The Civil Aviation Department (CAD) today (June 28) reminded the public that a temporary restricted flying zone (RFZ) will be established in and around Victoria Harbour from tomorrow (June 29) to July 1. All aircraft including planes, helicopters, unmanned aircraft systems (UAS or drones) will be restricted from entering the area concerned. Other flying activities will also be restricted within the RFZ.

"To facilitate arrangements for various events celebrating the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the CAD will establish a temporary RFZ around the coastal areas of the Victoria Harbour (see the area marked in red in the attachment) with effect from 9am tomorrow to 6pm on July 1. No aircraft will be permitted to enter the zone, except for Government Flying Service flights with prior approval from the Police," a spokesman for the CAD said.

"Other flying activities, such as the flying of captive balloons, mass release of small balloons, flying of kites or model aircraft, will also be restricted within the temporary RFZ," he added.

Details of the establishment of the temporary RFZ were previously announced via the Aeronautical Information Publication (www.ais.gov.hk/HK_AIP/supp/C01-17.pdf).
