The Transport Department today (June 12) announced that the public services under the department, i.e. the Licensing Offices, the Public Vehicles Unit, the Cross Boundary Unit, the Driving Test Appointment Office and the Vehicle Examination Centres, will be closed immediately after the issuing of the No. 8 gale or storm signal by the Hong Kong Observatory. The Driving Examination Centres will be closed after completing the driving tests of candidates who have already arrived at the test centres.
 
     Applicants who have made an appointment for renewal of a full driving licence/vehicle licence or application for an international driving permit today, please reschedule the appointment by making a fresh application.
 
     Candidates scheduled for driving tests today will be individually informed of the alternative arrangements.
