Murder in Chai Wan

About 9am, Police received a report that a 76-year-old woman fell unconscious inside a unit in Yiu Ming House, Yiu Tung Estate after her 80-year-old husband attacked her with a bamboo stick.
Police officers sped to the scene and found the 76-year-old woman lying unconsciously on a bed. Sustaining injuries to her neck, she was certified dead at scene.
After initial investigation, Police arrested the 80-year-old man at scene in suspected connection with the case. He is being detained for further enquiries.
A bamboo stick in suspected connection with the case was seized at scene.
Post-mortem examinations will be conducted later to ascertain the cause of death of the deceased.
Investigation by the District Crime Squad of Eastern District is underway.
