CE to attend Basic Law forum in Beijing

     The Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, will depart for Beijing on May 26 to attend and speak at a forum on the next day on the 20th anniversary of the implementation of the Basic Law organised by the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress.
 
     The Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Matthew Cheung Kin-chung; the non-permanent judge of the Court of Final Appeal, the Honourable Mr Justice Patrick Chan Siu-oi; and the Solicitor General of the Department of Justice, Mr Wesley Wong, SC, will also attend the forum.
 
     Mr Leung will depart for Beijing in the afternoon on May 26 and return to Hong Kong in the afternoon on the next day. During his absence, the Financial Secretary, Mr Paul Chan, will be the acting Chief Executive.
