London ETO promotes Hong Kong fashion and design talent in London (with photos)

The London ETO partnered with Fashion Farm Foundation, Debbie Lo Creativity Foundation, Hong Kong Design Centre and Design Trust to bring several fashion, furniture and industrial designers from Hong Kong to showcase their work and demonstrate their craftsmanship in London. The events formed part of the London ETO's programme to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
The events supported by the London ETO as part of London Craft Week are:
- Fashion Farm Foundation: Emerging Hong Kong Designer Makers, which brought together three talented Hong Kong designer makers - Kay, Jay and Zoe - to show their work at Asia House from May 3 to 5 (London Time). The exhibition is supported by the London ETO, Fashion Farm Foundation, Cathay Pacific Airways and Dorsett Hospitality International;
- UNFOLD Experimental Wax Batik Workshop at the Ace Hotel on May 3 (London Time), a workshop on batik on wood given by Elaine Ng of the Fabrick Lab. The workshop is supported by the London ETO, Debbie Lo Creativity Foundation, Hong Kong Design Centre and Design Trust.
- Elaine Ng and Lo Chi-wing displaying their collections of household products and furniture at Seeds Gallery from May 6 to 7 (London Time), sharing the theme of Time Travel Translation. The exhibition is supported by the London ETO, Debbie Lo Creativity Foundation, Hong Kong Design Centre and Design Trust.
Speaking at a reception to launch the Emerging Hong Kong Designer Makers exhibition on May 3 (London Time), the Director-General of the London ETO, Ms Priscilla To said, “Over the past 20 years, with the advantages of ‘One Country, Two Systems’, Hong Kong has maintained its position as a cosmopolitan city with a remarkable cultural flair. It is a huge delight to have this opportunity to showcase Hong Kong’s creativity and craftsmanship in London, an international centre for creativity and cultural diversity."
In the same week, the London ETO also supported a Hong Kong Fashion Designers Showcase with a catwalk parade featuring designers from Daydream Nation, INJURY, Kenaxleung, ZOEE and Jaycow, presented by Fashion Farm Foundation. The Hong Kong designers debuted their collections of women's and men's wear, hats, jewellery and accessories and the event ended with an auction of some of the items to raise money to support the work of the Chinese Community Centre. The Hong Kong Fashion Designer Showcase, held at the London Hilton on Park Lane on May 2 (London Time), was organised jointly by the Hong Kong Executives Club and the Chinese Community Centre, and supported by the London ETO.
