CE meets Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand (with photo)

     The Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, met the visiting Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand, Mr Somkid Jatusripitak, at Government House this afternoon (April 27) to exchange views on issues of mutual concern.

     Mr Leung said that Hong Kong and Thailand have long enjoyed close economic and trade ties and built up strong connections in tourism, culture and education. He also thanked the Deputy Prime Minister for Thailand's support in Hong Kong's free trade agreement negotiations with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

     Mr Leung said he hoped that the two places would continue to foster closer co-operation and exchanges on all fronts with a view to strengthening bilateral ties and promoting further development in the region.
