CS extends sympathies to family of late Principal Fireman

     The Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Matthew Cheung Kin-chung, today (March 22) expressed great sadness over the loss of Principal Fireman Mr Yau Siu-ming in a mountain rescue operation at Tiu Shau Ngam, Ma On Shan. He sent his deepest condolences to the late Mr Yau's family.

     Mr Cheung said, "It was with profound sadness that we learned of the loss of a dedicated and professional civil servant. The Government will render support to Mr Yau's family as soon as possible and give recognition to his bravery through the Financial Assistance Scheme for Family Members of Those Who Sacrifice Their Lives to Save Others."

     Mr Cheung said the Government will provide its utmost assistance to help family members of the late Mr Yau through this difficult time.
