S for S deeply saddened by death of Principal Fireman

     The Secretary for Security, Mr Lai Tung-kwok, today (March 22) was deeply saddened by the death of Principal Fireman Mr Yau Siu-ming. Mr Yau sustained serious injuries in a rescue operation at Tiu Shau Ngam in Ma On Shan this morning. He was rushed to Prince of Wales Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries later.

     "I am profoundly grieved at the passing of Mr Yau, who lost his life in the course of a rescue operation. I offer my deepest condolences to the family of the late Mr Yau," Mr Lai said.

     The Fire Services Department will make every effort to support and help the family of the late Mr Yau.
