Hong Kong Customs seizes suspected methamphetamine

During an anti-narcotics operation in Tseung Kwan O yesterday afternoon, Customs officers intercepted two men and found about 3 kilograms of suspected methamphetamine inside a bag carried by one of them. The two men, both aged 25, were then arrested. After investigation, Customs officers escorted the arrested persons to a private domestic premises nearby where about 5 kilograms of suspected methamphetamine and a batch of packaging paraphernalia were seized.
Both arrested men claimed to be unemployed. Investigation is ongoing.
Under the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, trafficking in a dangerous drug is a serious offence. The maximum penalty upon conviction is a fine of $5 million and life imprisonment.
