Suspect in connection with a homicide case returned to Hong Kong

Hong Kong Police received a 29-year-old suspect in connection with a homicide case from the Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department at the Lok Ma Chau Boundary Control Point today (February 1).
The Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime), Mr Chung Siu-yeung spoke at the surrender ceremony held at Huanggang, Shenzhen that Hong Kong Police were grateful for the invaluable assistance rendered by the Ministry of Public Security, Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department and Shenzhen Public Security Bureau, which resulted in the arrest of the suspect.
“The surrender ceremony today demonstrates the spirit of the co-operation in law enforcement of the two places. It also sends a solemn and unequivocal message to the public that Police of the two places determine to combat crime and protect lives and property,” Mr Chung said.
“Police of the two places will continue to co-operate closely so as to safeguard law and order of Hong Kong and Guangdong and protect lives and property”
The 29-year-old male suspect was suspected to be in connection with a homicide case happened in December 2013 in Tsuen Wan in which a 26-year-old woman was killed.
Extensive investigations by District Crime Squad of Tsuen Wan led to the identification of the suspect. As he was believed to have absconded to the Mainland, Hong Kong Police sought the assistance of the Ministry of Public Security and Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department. The subject was subsequently arrested in Longgang District, Shenzhen.
Active investigation by the District Crime Squad of Tsuen Wan is underway.
