EDB signs MOU with Thailand on education co-operation (with photos)

The Education Bureau today (January 16) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Ministry of Education of Thailand on education co-operation to enhance education collaboration between the two places.
Subsequent to the signing of the MOU by the Minister of Education of Thailand, Mr Teerakiat Jareonsettasin, the Consul-General of Thailand in Hong Kong, Mr Aroon Jivasakapimas, passed the MOU to the Secretary for Education, Mr Eddie Ng Hak-kim, and witnessed the signature by the Secretary.
"The MOU marks the beginning of a new phase of close co-operation between Hong Kong and Thailand in the area of education. With continuous support from the respective governments and educational sectors, I am confident that the MOU will facilitate more comprehensive exchange and collaboration in education between the two places," Mr Ng said at the signing ceremony.
The MOU provides a framework to facilitate strategic collaboration between the education communities of Hong Kong and Thailand. It covers mutually beneficial initiatives such as the provision of scholarships; exchange of knowledge, expertise and experience in the field of education; exchange of educational literature, teaching aids and demonstration; and exchanges of scholars, teachers, experts, students and other education personnel.
