Spain's Xirriquiteula Theatre to perform mime "Papirus" in December and January
*******************************************************************************
The story is based on dreams, with the two actors seeking to create friendship and love through simple gestures and skilled paper arts.
The story follows a dockworker and a country girl who meet by accident while running away from the war in their country. They learn to trust each another and work together as they grow up - and they begin to overcome the fear of realising their dreams.
Xirriquiteula Theatre was established in Barcelona in 1985. The theatre received the Best Show and Best Director Award at the European Theatre Festival for Children in Gijón, Spain in 2005, as well as Best Scenography at the Puppet Festival of Lleida in Catalonia in 2008.
Since its establishment the company has followed an interesting trajectory, creating theatre for audiences of all ages over the years, and has become one of the Spanish companies of reference in its field. Xirriquiteula Theatre has performed in France, Portugal, Italy, Germany, Denmark, Norway, Venezuela, Singapore, Syria and Lebanon.
