"Sai Kung Art and About" to be held this weekend
************************************************
More than 70 artists of different genres will showcase their work and exchange views with visitors at the booths on Mei Yuen Street. Their artworks will also be displayed at the Sai Kung Jockey Club Town Hall. Some artists will draw wall and ground paintings at Po Tung Road, Man Nin Street and at Sai Kung Waterfront Park.
There will be a variety of free workshops and demonstrations including porcelain painting, traditional and modern paper modeling, aluminum can craftwork, foot painting, DIY canvas bags and many more. A pastel drawing zone will also be set up for visitors to express their creativity on the pavements.
Jointly organised by the Sai Kung District Office (SKDO), the Sai Kung District Council (SKDC) and the Sai Kung District Community Centre of the Sai Kung Rural Committee, the event aims to promote art and creativity by providing a free platform for artists to showcase their artwork in an outdoor public area. The opening ceremony will be at 2.30pm on Saturday (December 3) at Mei Yuen Street. Officiating guests at the ceremony include representatives of the SKDO and the SKDC and its Working Group on Arts and Cultural Activities, and the originator of the art fair idea.
