EDB to launch new round of E-APP applications tomorrow
******************************************************
"This is the sixth year that the E-APP has provided an electronic application platform to enable current HKDSE Examination candidates to lodge advance applications so as to reduce the hassle of looking for further study pathways after the announcement of HKDSE Examination results. The E-APP promotes the good practices of early planning for further studies and advance application for post-secondary programmes," a spokesman for the EDB said.
Applying for programmes through the E-APP is simple and fast. Using this one-stop Internet-based service, applicants will only need to complete and submit one application via the E-APP (www.eapp.gov.hk) to apply for most post-secondary programmes not covered under JUPAS. Institutions will process applications from the E-APP as early as possible and may give eligible candidates conditional offers before the announcement of HKDSE Examination results. In addition, the E-APP updates regularly the application statuses of the applicants, including invitation for interviews and provision of conditional offers, which will enable both the applicants and their secondary school teachers to monitor the progress of the applications.
"Before applying through the E-APP, students can browse the website of the Concourse for Self-financing Post-secondary Education (www.cspe.edu.hk), or make use of the Concourse mobile application, to obtain information on institutions and programmes for planning their studies," the spokesman added.
In order to allow time for students to apply for programmes, the E-APP's main round of applications will run from tomorrow until May 16, 2017, and the second round of applications will last from May 23 to June 30, 2017. In general, institutions will first process applications received in the main round.
To accord convenience to students in programme selection and application, the EDB will in parallel update the Information Portal for Accredited Post-secondary Programmes (iPASS) (www.ipass.gov.hk). The iPASS will provide details of some 500 full-time locally accredited Higher Diploma, Associate Degree and undergraduate programmes not covered under JUPAS for the 2017/18 academic year, including their tuition fees, entry requirements, accreditation and recognition by relevant professional bodies. The EDB will also upload institutions' estimated number of intake places and their application and admission arrangements for the 2017/18 academic year to the iPASS.
The iPASS will also provide information on full-time University Grants Committee-funded undergraduate programmes offering senior year places and self-financing top-up degree programmes in the 2017/18 academic year, so as to help graduates and students of sub-degree programmes plan for their further studies.
