Special traffic arrangements on Hong Kong Island

     Police will implement special traffic arrangements to facilitate a public procession to be held on Hong Kong Island this Saturday (November 26).

Road closure
------------

     The following roads will be intermittently closed from 2.45pm until the crowd is dispersed:

- Gloucester Road south of Great George Street;
- Sugar Street;
- Westbound Yee Wo Street;
- Jardine’s Bazaar;
- Bowrington Road;
- Canal Road West;
- Lee Garden Road between Pak Sha Road and Hennessy Road;
- Kai Chiu Road;
- Westbound Hennessy Road;
- Queensway;
- Rodney Street;
- Edinburgh Place between Lung Wo Road and Connaught Road Central;
- Eastbound Connaught Road Central outside Hong Kong City Hall;
- Westbound Harcourt Road Service Road between Rodney Street and Cotton Tree Drive;
- U-turn slip road leading from westbound Harcourt Road Service Road to eastbound Harcourt Road;
- Eastbound Harcourt Road between Tim Wa Avenue and Edinburgh Place; and
- If necessary, Garden Road flyover.

Traffic diversions
------------------

     The following traffic diversions will be implemented from 3.30pm until the crowd is dispersed:

- Traffic along westbound Harcourt Road cannot enter at-grade westbound Harcourt Road Service Road. Affected vehicles heading for Queensway will be diverted via westbound Harcourt Road flyover and Murray Road;
- Traffic along eastbound Connaught Road Central cannot enter at-grade eastbound Harcourt Road and must travel straight ahead to eastbound Harcourt Road flyover. Affected vehicles heading for southbound Cotton Tree Drive and Queensway will be diverted via Harcourt Road flyover, Gloucester Road, Fenwick Street, Fenwick Pier Street flyover and Murray Road; and
- Traffic along northbound Cotton Tree Drive cannot enter eastbound Harcourt Road and northbound Tim Wa Avenue. Affected vehicles must turn left to Lambeth Walk or turn right to southbound Cotton Tree Drive via the U-turn slip road.

     Vehicles may not be permitted to leave the car parks along the procession route during the road closure period.

     Actual implementation of the traffic arrangements will be made depending on traffic and crowd conditions in the area. Motorists are advised to exercise tolerance and patience and take heed of instructions of the Police on site.
