HKETONY supports Warren Lee's debut in Carnegie Hall (with photos)

Speaking at a press conference on November 9 (New York time), the Director of HKETONY, Mr Steve Barclay, welcomed the pianist to New York. Lee studied at the Royal Academy of Music and later at the Yale School of Music in the 1990s.
"I hope that in showcasing and promoting the works and talents of the finest musicians here, it will also help foster closer cultural understanding and ties," Mr Barclay said.
Lee was supposed to have given his debut at Carnegie Hall in November 2012, as part of the Manhattan Hong Kong Music Festival. However, the concert was cancelled due to Hurricane Sandy. The music festival was also supported by HKETONY.
Invited by Distinguished Concerts International New York, Lee will curate a programme that features some of the all-time classics, such as Chopin's "Barcarolle in F-sharp major Op 60", Beethoven's "Sonata in E major Op. 109" and Bach-Busoni's "Chaconne", as well as pieces by renowned and Oscar-winning Chinese composer Tan Dun.
Lee will also perform his own composition "Three Novelettes", which is dedicated to his mentor, Mr Robert Blocker, the Dean of the Yale School of Music.
Lee has made outstanding contributions to music education. He was named an Associate of the esteemed Royal Academy of Music in 2015. Under his music directorship, St Paul's Co-educational College received the Yale Cultural Leadership Citation in 2016.
