Police appeal to the people at scene nearby Connaught Road West and Des Voeux Road West to leave as soon as possible

     Regarding the chaotic situation and confrontations occurred currently (November 6) in the vicinity of Connaught Road West and Des Voeux Road West, and the provocation at Police by the crowd, Police appeal to members of the public to exercise restraint and comply with the instructions of the Police officers. They are also urged to leave the scene as soon as possible.

     Police reiterate that any acts endangering public order and public safety will not be tolerated. The Hong Kong community regard that the public should express their views in a rational and peaceful manner. Police will take enforcement actions decisively on law-breaking behaviours.

     As emergency incident occurred nearby Connaught Road West and Des Voeux Road West, all exits of MTR Sai Ying Pun Station are temporarily closed until further notice.

     Members of the public and motorists are advised not to go to the vicinity of Connaught Road West and Des Voeux Road West as far as possible.
