Police yesterday (September 27) concluded a one-week territory-wide operation targeting illegal parking and offences which obstruct traffic flow.
The operation resulted in the issue of 37,157 fixed penalty tickets.
A Police spokesman said that the operation targeted undesirable driving behaviour which might cause accidents and imped traffic flow, with a view to improving road users’ driving attitude, preventing traffic accidents and maintaining smooth traffic flow.
Police will continue to take stringent enforcement actions to combat illegal parking throughout the territory. Fixed penalty tickets will be issued without prior warning, he added.
He reminded drivers to drive safely, be considerate and respect the rights of other road users.
