SHA to visit Rio de Janeiro

     The Secretary for Home Affairs, Mr Lau Kong-wah, will depart for Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in the early hours on Wednesday (August 3) to attend events at the Games of the XXXI Olympiad and cheer for Hong Kong athletes.

     During his stay, Mr Lau will attend a welcome ceremony and a flag-raising ceremony for the Hong Kong delegation at the Olympic Village and meet with Hong Kong athletes. He will also attend the Olympic Games opening ceremony, and will watch various competitions featuring Hong Kong athletes.

     Mr Lau will depart Brazil for Hong Kong on August 7, and will arrive in Hong Kong in the afternoon on August 8.
