Opening of swimming pools and beaches (as at 2pm)

The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) announced that as at 2pm today (July 17), due to an insufficient number of lifeguards on duty, the following 12 public swimming pools are partially open to ensure swimmers’ safety:
Hong Kong Island: Morrison Hill Swimming Pool
Kowloon: Lai Chi Kok Park Swimming Pool, Lei Cheng Uk Swimming Pool, Kowloon Park Swimming Pool, Tai Wan Shan Swimming Pool, Kowloon Tsai Swimming Pool, Hammer Hill Road Swimming Pool, Kwun Tong Swimming Pool
New Territories: Tuen Mun North West Swimming Pool, Kwai Shing Swimming Pool, Tai Po Swimming Pool, Sha Tin Jockey Club Swimming Pool
Lifesaving services at Butterfly Beach in Tuen Mun District, as well as Trio Beach, Silverstrand Beach and Clear Water Bay Second Beach in Sai Kung District are now suspended. Red flags have been hoisted at the beaches. For safety reasons, swimmers are advised not to enter the water.
The rest of 30 public swimming pools, 34 public beaches and all water sports centres remain open to the public.
The department apologised for any inconvenience caused.
