The Secretary for Transport and Housing, Professor Anthony Cheung Bing-leung, visited Wong Tai Sin this afternoon (June 30) to meet with members of the Wong Tai Sin District Council (WTSDC) and tour an integrated service centre for children and youths in the district.
Professor Cheung, accompanied by the District Officer (Wong Tai Sin), Mrs Angel Choi, exchanged views with WTSDC members on transport and housing issues such as bus and minibus services, barrier-free access facilities and the redevelopment of old public rental housing estates.
He then visited the Jockey Club Chuk Yuen Integrated Service Centre for Children & Youth to learn about its facilities and services. Operated by the Hong Kong Playground Association, the centre helps youngsters attain all-round development and healthy living through various classes and activities. During the visit, Professor Cheung chatted with children, youths and parents participating in activities to learn more about their lives and encourage them to use community facilities. He also commended the centre's dedication in helping young people to develop their potential and strengthen their problem-solving abilities through community support services.
