Kwun Tong community carnival to be held at Ngau Tau Kok Park this Sunday (with photos)

     The Leisure and Cultural Services Department will hold the community thematic carnival "Happy﷿Live﷿Kwun Tong" this Sunday (June 19) from 4pm to 7pm at Ngau Tau Kok Park. The event will feature a variety of entertaining performances, workshops and activities. Admission is free.

     During the carnival, Cantopop singer Josy Lai will sing lively pop songs and also serve as programme host. There will also be other energetic shows such as a cross-over cello and street dance performance, dance theatre incorporating martial arts, plus rock music performances.

     Naamyam singer Tong Siu-yin and her partners Au Yick-ho and Cheung Man-shan will sing famous naamyam songs. In addition, some Kwun Tong seniors will stage an oral history drama with many stories about the people and history of the district. A traditionally crafted lion and a balloon lion will also be paraded and will take part in lion dance performances.

     Other fringe activities of the carnival include oral history telling, organic beverage demonstrations, food craft workshops, balloon art workshops and a photo exhibition on Kwun Tong.
