The Chief Secretary for Administration, Mrs Carrie Lam (left), this afternoon (June 7, Washington, DC time) meets with the Vice President for Monetary Studies and Editor of Cato Journal of the Cato Institute, Mr Jim Dorn, at a luncheon with prominent think-tank representatives and opinion leaders hosted by the the Hong Kong Commissioner for Economic and Trade Affairs, USA, Mr Clement Leung. The Cato Institute co-publishes the Economic Freedom of the World report with the Canada-based Fraser Institute. Hong Kong has been ranked the top every year since the first report came out in 1996. The two institutes also jointly publish the Human Freedom Index, and Hong Kong was rated top in the latest Index published in 2015. |
