Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Tripartite CID Heads' Meeting (with photo)

     Senior management of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao police held the 22nd Tripartite Heads of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Meeting in Guangzhou yesterday (June 1), with a view to outlining strategies as well as strengthening co-operation and intelligence exchange in the fight against cross-boundary crimes.

     Led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Operations), Mr Wong Chi-hung, representatives of the Hong Kong Police Force met with the delegations respectively headed by Mr Lin Weixiong, Director of CID of Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department and Mr Ma Lo-kun, Commissioner-General of Macao Unitary Police Service.

     The Hong Kong delegation comprised five Bureau Heads of Crime Wing and officers from Liaison Bureau. The Mainland delegates came from Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department, Shenzhen and Zhuhai Municipal Public Security Bureaux, while the Macao members were from Unitary Police Service, Judiciary Police and Public Security Police. Also attended the meeting were representatives of the Ministry of Public Security, and the Police Liaison Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People﷿s Government in both Hong Kong and Macao.

     At the meeting, the tripartite CID heads reviewed the cooperation during the past year and mapped out the way forward. They exchanged views on the challenges encountered in the fight against cross-boundary crime and discussed issues including cross-boundary crime trend, joint operations, intelligence exchange, training and visits.

     Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao police have worked in perfect harmony for years, resulting in the detection of many organised and serious crimes. It is evident that close co-operation and liaison among tripartite criminal investigation departments have contributed proactively to combating cross-boundary crime.
