The Home Affairs Bureau (HAB) will hold two briefing sessions, to be held tomorrow (April 15) and on Sunday (April 17), on the arrangements of the 2016 Nomination of Representatives of Arts Interests for the Hong Kong Arts Development Council (HKADC) (the Nomination Exercise). All interested parties are welcome to attend.
The HKADC is a statutory body set up to promote the development of arts in Hong Kong. The Chief Executive may appoint up to 10 persons nominated by the specified arts interests as members of the HKADC. The 10 specified arts interests are Arts Administration, Arts Criticism, Arts Education, Chinese Opera (Xiqu), Dance, Drama, Film Arts, Literary Arts, Music and Visual Arts. The current term of office of the HKADC members will expire on December 31, 2016. Eligible arts organisations and individual arts workers may apply to participate in the Nomination Exercise to nominate representatives of the respective arts interests for the Chief Executive's consideration for appointment as members of the HKADC for the next term.

The Nomination Exercise began on March 29. Eligible arts organisations and individual arts workers who would like to participate in the Nomination Exercise are invited to submit applications to the Nomination Agent (Note) on or before 5pm on May 27.
"Since the establishment of the HKADC in June 1995, this year marks the ninth nomination exercise for arts representatives. More information about the arrangements of the Nomination Exercise will be explained in the briefing sessions to the arts organisations and individual arts workers," an HAB spokesman said.
