The Home Affairs Bureau today (April 29) announced the appointments to the Public Libraries Advisory Committee (PLAC) for the period from May 1, 2014 to April 30, 2016.
The Advisory Committee advises the Government on the development of public libraries in Hong Kong, including the formulation of strategies and measures for the development of library facilities and services; the role, functions and management of Hong Kong Central Library as well as the encouragement of community support and partnership with different sectors in promoting reading, lifelong learning and literary arts.
The membership list for the new term of the Advisory Committee is as follows:

The Home Affairs Bureau thanked the 10 outgoing members (Professor John Leong Chi-yan (Chairman), Mr Cheung Chi-kong (Vice-chairman), Dr Chan Kin-wai, Professor Leonard Chan Kwok-kou, Ms Yolanda Chiu Wai-kan, Professor Lee Kam-keung, Professor Lo Wai-luen, Mr Gerry Ma Kwai-yung, Mrs Grace Tam Cheung Kit-ying and Mr Dennis Tin Ding-sin) for their valued support and contributions to the work of the advisory committee for the past six years, and looks forward to receiving the new PLAC's valuable advice on the development of the public libraries.
